Birthdays Be Like

November was my favourite month

With its drizzling showers

And late autumn nights.

November was my birth month

And I loved it with all my heart.

Birthday seasons are filled with joy.

It gives you an overwhelming feeling

Of love, care, blessings and what not.

A month filled with lots of surprises.

And one such surprise

Made my heart throb.

It was a letter from my long lost bestie

Of whom I didn’t had a knowledge about.

The letter was filled with happiness and memories

Which brought happy tears in my grey shade eyes.

I was contented thinking that she remembered my birthday.

I was grateful thinking that I still had a place in her heart.

But the biggest surprise came

When I heard a knock on the door.

I opened it casually

And was astonished to see

My bestie standing in front of me.

I couldn’t believe my eyes

As I saw her standing with a dimpled smile.

I moved forward to get a closer look

As I was brought out of a trance.

I smiled looking at her

And hugged her wholeheartedly.

We shared our stories

And cherished the past moments.

She agreed to come again

And left with a promise

Of continuing this friendship

Of never breaking this bond.

The birthday gave me a great surprise

Which I’ll never forget in my entire life.
